While I think that the language in this issue was good for setting the tone of the characters and their environment (as I mentioned above), I think that there were moments that felt like it went a bit overboard. It isn't that it was too descriptive, but that there were lines that were supposed to be funny (like a joke) but because of the flowery dialogue, the jokes fell sort of flat.

I like the Asgardian speak and wish Marvel hadn't dropped it to the extent that they have already. The thee's and thou's made Asgard seem like Asgard...this is another world we're talking about here. Where is your imagination? Like i said in another thread...a dumbed down readership.

What makes Sif standout in the company of the Warriors 3? Why don't the 3 men goad her like a female, or treat her as below them, instead of an equal as they do? What has she done that commands respect? Has Sif derided the warriors 3? Beaten them in combat, saved their lives, or just fought beside them when the going gets tough? Why is Sif accorded the respect she has been given? She's just some female that just happens to be from Asgard, isn't she?

This is probably my most anticipated book of Marvel NOW.

The dialogue isn't dumbed down. While this may cause problems for some readers, anyone coming off reading Gillen's run is going to be used to formal language and syntax.

Anyway, I thought the issue was great and I wonder where it's going to go next, based on the last couple of pages. It was also pretty great for making avatars from...

Just read it and thought it was pretty good. I didn't have any problems with the dialogue either. It is formal but it fits the world of Asgard.

Will definitely be giving the next few issues a look.

And Schiti is definitely one to keep an eye out for. Good on Marvel for scouting him.
