When Reed Richards is hit by cosmic rays, instead of developing stretchy powers he instead gains access to the transmutation methods from Full Metal Alchemist, as if he had seen the Truth. What he loses in the process is probably fairly irrelevant, given that he'll likely just put in a replacement fairly quickly.

Anywho, how does this change things? What are the full implications of letting a Comic Book Mad Scientist of his caliber have access to the ability to restructure matter at will by clapping his hands?

He'd be a monster, combined with his smarts, so long as he had the materials on hand he be able to make just about anything he put his mind to. What's important here is the speed he'd be able to create things at, saving loads of time.
