Fringe Reborn

The Science Channel has obtained syndication rights to Fringe, and will re-air all five seasons between tomorrow (20 November) and the series finale in January. Entertainment Weekly has dubbed it "The Great Fringe Rewatch".

Seems like a great opportunity for a lapsed fan like me to jump back onto the wagon. I'll need to watch 'em as fast as I record 'em, though, because all 100 episodes are airing in rapid succession, and I've only got so much space on my DVR...

Anyone else here taking advantage of this?

I already have them on DVD so no need to watch on some channels schedule. Nonetheless it thrills me that they are making an event of this incredible show.

Wrong boards, I guess. Most other boards just crap on the show on a daily basis. And even amidst average to bad ratings it's always been seen as a show that existed because the creator knew someone at Fox.

It seems like a lot of people here like most any show regardless of quality if only it has some slight tinge of genre elements; I can understand that, I watched a lot of Heroes when it was on...and that show was horrible. Not that I think Fringe is a horrible show, it seems ok, but it doesn't seem all that memorable; I'm really surprised it's still kicking around. I did really like the Wayne Whiteish floating words in the environment, although they didn't look as good after the pilot.

Actually you can just start with the latest season. They pretty much re-booted the whole show anyway for it.

yes that does happen quite a bit...and every time a show gets canned, you'd hear cries of "unappreciated" and what I like to call the fandom prayer of the dead "maybe another network will pick it up"

I enjoy it, but it endured because it held a good chunk of its audience I think

People on the internet crap all over everything on a daily basis, so it's probably not a good idea to use that as any kind of meaningful barometer of quality.

That's my feeling as well(about the boards and the show). I think it's more of a fan-centric board and people will become fanboy at the simple things. But i've been guilty of this as well and that's the beauty of these boards. But it's hard to be critical before someone jump at your throat. I'm realising now It's just a matter of adapting to the type of board that you're in. A few weeks ago I talked about the worst part of CGI(since most people I know, like me are tired of it) and it's like someone took it personaliy like CGI was his personal baby or something and it became some sort of dk weaving never-ending debate.
