I have a feeling some will be turned off by the pulp scifi turn for this book. It's a big change from the previous run.
Next Wednesday: Avengers 14, Dream Thief 2, New Avng 7, Sup Spidey 12, Uncanny Avng 9
Spider-Man from the beginning! Last ish: ASM #15 - Chameleon hires Kraven (first appearance!) to kill Spidey.

This might not be the right thread, but does anyone know if Captain America will be double shipping? I've never really read Cap before and I'm thinking of picking this up.

Not for the first four months as least.

After a lot of back and forth between characters and some of the art, I'm on board. That preview to issue 2 last week really made me see what Remender was talking about in terms of his plans for Cap and why he chose JRJr. for the art.

Hope to enjoy it as much as I did Bru's run.

whoa, whoa is this guy detailing the comic verbatim here? I mean I don't want to read the rest because I don't want to be spoiled, but it seems like he's giving the plot away.

    Glad it seems good though.
Steve Rogers: You ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?
James Barnes: Hell, no! The little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. I'm following him."

I stopped reading this review because I don't want to ruin it for myself. Glad it sounds like a good start. I've been stoked about this book since it was announced and the first pages were previewed. I love Brubakers Cap but am looking forward to something totally different. It's going to kill me having to wait for this one to come in the mail.

My sentiments exactly, you're preaching to the choir on sub waiting.

Say what you will about this book, I just can't get past JRJ's artwork. I just saw these same characters and poses in Hit-Girl last month. He just gave them all a different name.

This was a very disappointing comic. The plot was WEAK and the characterization was sloppy. This is no better than Rememder was on Secret Avengers, and that wasn't very good.

The art was better that JRJr was in Avengers, but still not great.

I am undecided as to whether to give issue 2 a try.
