    Default Real-Life events in DC Comics

    Hey guys this is kind of spinning off from my "Real-Life important people in DC Comics" thread, but I'm wondering which real-life events(historical, war-related, disaster-related, etc.) have been referenced or involved in DC Comics? The only thing that comes to my mind is World War 2.

    Presidential Elections..until Bush was President which in DC Comics was replaced by Lex Luthor and Pete Ross. Not sure if Obama is President in DCNu or not. President Kennedy's death referenced. Nero and Rome was. The Revolutionary War. The Old West. Elvis, The Beatles. Disco, Studio 54 approximation. Fashion 60s and 70s. Breakdancing. Civil War. Lincoln, Washington.

    "Batman and the Outsiders" 14 and 15 take place at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

    The opening arc of "All-Star Squadron" takes place during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

    Superman and Uncle Sam mention 9/11 and 1 or 2 other terrorist attacks while chatting, Vietnam and Korea come up (though usually later retconned into general wars if part of some ones origin due to the sliding time scale), Arrowette was in the Olympics one year...
