It sounds like we'll get 2-3 EC matches this year. One for the World, one for either the US or IC, and/or one War Games style: Cena/Sheamus/Ryback vs. the Shield.

Backstage News on WWE Elimination Chamber - Only One Chamber Match?, Possible Six-Man, More
By Marc Middleton
Jan 29, 2013 - 6:47:30 PM
- There was talk backstage at Monday's RAW from Las Vegas that the February WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view may feature just one Chamber match. That Chamber match would be for the World Heavyweight Title.
If this talk is true, this would mean no Elimination Chamber match for the RAW Superstars. The top RAW matches for the pay-per-view would be CM Punk vs. The Rock for the WWE Title and a six-man match with Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. John Cena, Ryback and possibly Sheamus, if he doesn't end up in the Chamber for SmackDown.
Likely participants for the Chamber are World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Big Show, a returning Mark Henry and a few others. As noted, Booker T will be making an announcement on the World Heavyweight Title at tonight's SmackDown tapings and the Chamber is expected to be that announcement.

Backstage News on the Finish for The Rock vs. CM Punk, Rock as WWE Champion
By Marc Middleton
Jan 31, 2013 - 9:06:17 AM
- The Rock and CM Punk practiced their Royal Rumble match on Sunday before the pay-per-view. The finish was kept top secret from other talents to the point that they hung a curtain around the ring so nobody could see what they were doing.
Regarding the finish of the match, Punk was pinned after The People's Elbow because their feud had been built on Punk saying that the people don't matter and Rock saying they do.
With Rock as WWE Champion, the idea is he will be doing a ton of media to promote several movies over the next two months and can talk about WWE, WrestleMania and being the champion.

Will Money in the Bank Happen at WrestleMania 29?, Backstage News on Cena's Rumble Win
By Marc Middleton
Feb 3, 2013 - 8:33:44 AM
- Many fans were wondering WWE's reasoning for having this year's Royal Rumble match come down to John Cena and Ryback. There was no longterm reasoning, such as an upcoming feud, behind Cena eliminating Ryback. Officials just wanted Cena eliminating someone strong to win the match.
- There was talk of doing a Money in the Bank match at WrestleMania 29 but WWE officials recently decided they do not want the match taking place on the biggest show of the year. The feeling is Money in the Bank should be left to its own pay-per-view. The idea for this year would have been to feature Ryback in the match to get him over big time but that won't be happening, at least not at WrestleMania.

Update on the WrestleMania 30 Location - WWE Going Back and Forth on NYC or New Orleans
By Marc Middleton
Feb 6, 2013 - 8:04:35 AM
- There are reports that a local radio station in New Orleans leaked the news on Wednesday that WWE's WrestleMania 30 will be held there at the Super Dome. An official announcement from WWE was expected at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, also from New Orleans, later this month.
PWInsider reported earlier this week that officials continue to go back and forth on the WrestleMania 30 location and that New Orleans was not 100% official yet.
There are forces within WWE who believe WrestleMania 30 should be held at Madison Square Garden but more people in the company believe that WWE has already set the standard for holding WrestleMania at big stadiums, plus the argument that the New York area is getting WrestleMania this year.

Big WWE Feud Discussed for This Summer, Update on The Undertaker's Health and More
By Marc Middleton
Feb 7, 2013 - 9:34:48 AM
- There is still no official word on The Undertaker's status for WrestleMania 29. Right now the plan is Taker vs. CM punk until he says he's not doing the show. There is no commitment right now that he will do the show. Friends of his are hoping that he won't wrestle this year as his hip and shoulder are giving him problems.
No word yet on what CM Punk may do if Taker doesn't wrestle but speculation is a singles match with Ryback, which would change his plans, or a spot in the John Cena vs. The Rock WWE Title match.
- Word is that one of the bigger feuds this coming summer and fall will be Punk vs. Brock Lesnar, which could suggest that Brock is turning babyface eventually.

The Rock and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam?, Backstage News on Elimination Chamber Six-Man
By Marc Middleton
Feb 7, 2013 - 9:29:49 AM
- There is talk of using both Brock Lesnar and The Rock at this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view. WWE really wants the Hollywood community to be part of SummerSlam's festivities and both stars would help make it seem like a bigger event.
- The reason why Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus, Ryback and John Cena at WWE Elimination Chamber won't be happening inside the Chamber is because it would be an elimination match and WWE doesn't want to have to eliminate five of their hottest Superstars right now.

Translation: They don't want to leave one of the Shield guys in alone with one of their marquee names and make the established stars look weak. Rollins/Ambrose/Reigns can work circles around Ryback and Sheamus, and probably spot out some flaws for Cena. A tag match will help keep the "good guys" protected and strong.
"That was the ebb. Pray I do not demonstrate my mastery over the flow."
Who would they lose to? If they beat Ryback, Cena, and Sheamus ... what faces are left to save the WWE? Orton, Del Rio ... Miz? Team Hell No?
Having the Shield go over now will make Cena look super weak and lame going into his WM match with Rocky. Thus making the title and company look weaker. I think they needed to either save the big confrontation for after WM or have the Shield keep picking off lower faces and move their way up.
"That was the ebb. Pray I do not demonstrate my mastery over the flow."
Cena doesn't have to look strong going into mania, that's old fashioned booking that doesn't apply to him for that show.
They can cheat to win and if they want Ryback to get over than let him beat all 3 at mania.
Again, Cena beat Brock Lesnar in his first match and it made zero difference in Cena. Beating guys lower level than him doesn't help him, but Cena losing via cheats also doesn't hurt him, and he already has a program for mania so he can move on.
Nothing's gonna happen without a warning
Plus they have 7 weeks after the Elimination Chamber (there's no PPV in March) to build up Cena or anyone for WrestleMania
Am I the only one who wishes there wasnt a PPV between the rumble and wrestlemania?
Eh, Comics is a pretty cool guy...
