What would happen if Alan Moore ever worked for DC as a writer again?
DC gets an incredble Marvel Family story
Swamp Thing is just Awesome
War between Angel & Faeries
The Apocalypse
Marvel merges with Image
Aliens invade the Earth
What would happen if Alan Moore ever worked for DC as a writer again?
The truth of the world is that it is chaotic. The truth is more frightening, nobody is in control. The world is rudderless.
Uhh...what do you mean "what would happen?" What exactly are you asking?
disaster
because he would be sabotaging them
Grandparents dead - please no jokes
make mine DC, thanks
Rain falls up
Hamburgers eat people
Cats chase Dogs
Babs is retconned out of existance as Betty was always the one true Batgirl.
More ranting and complaining because DC acts in their best interests and to the letter of the contract signed by both parties, which is, of course, outrageous.
Hell would freeze over and there would be a new hockey franchise.
Impossible, of course.
But I would have quite liked to have seen him take on Superman (even if he's already done his Superman thing on Supreme), and Green Lantern Corps.
Playing around with these 'impossible' scenarios, assuming two books for each, my ideal line would have been something like...(keeping in mind that Morrison has already done his Superman)
Action Comics, by Alan Moore, Chris Sprouse, Xander Canon and Gene Ha
Superman, by Neil Gaiman, Frank Quitely, Aaron Kuder and Chris Burnham
Green Lantern by Neil Gaiman, Alan Davis and JH Williams III
Green Lantern Corps, by Alan Moore, Kevin O'Neil, Duncan Fregedo and Travel Foreman
Batman, by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini
Detective Comics, by Brian Azzarello and Mike Mignola
Legion of Super-Heroes, by Grant Morrison, Jim Cheung, Olivier Coipel and Pascual Alixe
Wonder Woman, by Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang
Sensation Comics, by Darwyn Cooke, Amanda Conner, and Ed McGuiness.
The Justice League, by Darwyn Cooke
The New Gods, by Walter Simonson
Flash, by Grant Morrison, Francis Manapul and Cameron Stewart.
Aquaman, by Kieren Gillen and Jesus Saiz
Captain Marvel by Gillen and Skottie Young
Teen Titans by Jason Aaron and Tony Moore
Nightwing, by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee
Batman and Robin by Jason Aaron and Doug Mahnke
Animal Man, by Brian K Vaughn and Fiona Staples
Swamp Thing, by China Mieville and Francesco Francavilla
Justice League Dark by Warren Ellis and whoever.
Mmm, so much fun.

Same as now: many nerds will go on about how he needs to grow up and move on, and stop being so thin-skinned.
And still with no detectible irony whatsoever.
"'Kirby got a shitty contract too, so get over it' isn't a great tagline."

Really? Refuses to roll over? I don't even know what that's supposed to mean in this instance. I know people love to deify Moore, but he CHOSE to sign the contract which very clearly stated who could do which with what. I don't see where rolling over is involved.
I used to love Moore's work. And when the whole bruhaha with DC started so many years ago, I naturally gravitated to Moore's side. But the more that has been revealed about the circumstances involved, combined with the unmitigated hypocrisy of Moore's complaints, has now soured me on him more or less forever. There is no complaint against the treatment and use of the characters he came up with that he is not himself equally -- if not MORE -- guilty of towards other creators' creations. His flippant disregard towards the integrity and intent of other creators' characters, over and over and over and over makes him a worse offender towards others than anyone at DC ever has been to him.
The thing is, I DO agree with a lot of the complaints Moore has made. At least in spirit. But he is the absolute LAST person who should ever be making those complaints.
Why's that? It gives him the chance to write more Constantine, and he does adult superhero action ridiculously well. He's the perfect choice.
And thanks! It's easy when you don't have to abide by the rules of reality. :)
