Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...
I didn't say HE got nominated for Jackie Brown; I said anytime one of your films gets nominated, you get your wee-wee pulled a little.
I know for a fact that Jackie Brown was nominated for acting.
I think that's a little... silly. I don't think too many were courting Phyllida Lloyd "just because" Meryl won an Oscar for the Iron Lady (2011). Robert Forster being nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars isn't an instant evidence the Academy love everything Tarantino does, or praise him for every actors work. I would argue the opposite: it sends the message "we didn't forget your film... we just didn't think YOU were good enough to nominate." Stanlety Tucci was nominated for the Lovely Bones (2009) that was "pullin the wee wee" of Tucci NOT Jackson.
A great performance by an actor is not always thanks to the director.![]()
"I don't know how to please you Lord, but I think the fact I try to please you, pleases you."
The idea that a director wouldn't take pride in one of the performances he directed is silly. Bringing forgotten people like Robert Forster back into the spotlight is one of the things that Tarantino loves about himself. Sure, it's not as big as getting a Best Director Oscar, but I haven't claimed that. Remember, originally this was all to say that gloating about the Academy nominating Tarantino over the Wachowski brothers is a little weird, given that Tarantino's movies, and all the parts that make them up (e.g, acting), have fared better with the Academy. I mean, this is pretty basic knowledge.
Again, I didn't say the Academy loves everything Tarantino does, but feel free to jack off this strawman for as long as you want.
