Default BESIDES THE HOBBIT... what (potential) Oscar contender are you MOST excited to see?

It's very simple, of the list; what are you MOST excited to see? Now obviously, my list can't be perfect (apologies). I'm also assuming anything that's been out a long time on major release has already been seen by those most excited to see it (hence why they are not included). I was going to include "other" as an option; but I felt that gave to much opportunity for some to vote for the Avengers of the Dark Knight Rises; even though they are NOT what is being talked about. So sorry... but those films came out aaaaages ago.

I'm going to post trailers to the films from the list... feel free to add to them, as you please.

    THE LIST
    • Amour
    • Argo
    • Beasts of the Southern Wild
    • Django Unchained
    • Hitchcock
    • The Impossible
    • Les Misérables
    • Life of Pi
    • Lincoln
    • the Master
    • Promised Land
    • The Sessions
    • Silver Linings Paybook
    • Trouble With the Curve
    • Zero Dark Thirty

    AMOUR (2012)
    Dir. Michael Haneke
Starring: Jean-Louis Trintigant, Emmanuelle Riva and Isabelle Huppert

P.S. if you don't care about the Oscars... please LEAVE IT AT THE DOOR. My thread, my rules. This is NOT a "the Oscars is lame, cuz, like, I hate them, fight 'the Man', they never gave an Oscar to Hitchcock, waaaaah" thread. If you don't like the Oscars, don't post. We can all do without negative nancies in our lives (GO HOME, NEGATIVE NANCIES).

Yeah, that one caught me by surprise as well.

I mean, films like the Hobbit probably stand a good chance of winning an award for their effects or their musical scores but Django? That seems like a case of "One of these things is not like the others...".

Of those listed though I'm excited to see Life of Pi, like the Hobbit I'm not sure it'll get nominated for anything beyond its effects or music but I loved the book so I'm pumped for the film.

I'm not interested in the Hobbit.

Zero Dark Thirty and Argo will probably be ones I catch on the boob tube.

And after reading a draft of Django Unchained script, I'll pass.

I'd never pass on a Tarantino film. A script (and not even that - just a draft) is one thing, the finished product is quite another.

So Django is an Oscar contender, but Cloud Atlas is not?

The Silver Linings Playbook is the movie I'm most excited about this year. The book was great, and the movie looks hilarious. No desire whatsoever to see The Hobbit, though.

"Life of Pie"? There's already a parody film out?

It was a pretty good film. Great performances all around. I wouldn't be surprised to see De Niro get an nod for Best Supporting.

I'd love to see Cloud Atlas get nominated.

It wouldn't surprise me if Django Unchained is nominated for some Oscars. Inglourious Basterds did pretty well with nominations.

I'm not a fan of QT, but I love the material he 'borrows' from. That said, between that draft and the footage I've seen, I've lost interest (even with the Franco Nero cameo.)
