    I know that, it's just that whoever wrote them seemed to get the cultural zeitgeist of those years down pat, if not the actual events.

    An interesting thing about this piece by Smith (which he talks about in Opus #2)
    He added the bird, which to me really makes the drawing work, because he was having trouble getting the figures knee to look right.



    You notice it's head covers up the knee. Serendipity strikes!

    Hard to pick the best by Frazetta, any of his are among the greatest. But if we stick to his pen and ink work ( as opposed to his paintings) these two are at the top.
