No offense Tony, some of those covers a great, but others are just silly or really bad. There might be some historical significance, but if you think those are the best of all time, our tastes are vastly different.

I love comics history, so for me, they're all great. There's nothing wrong with "silly" on a Golden Age book, or a comedic title like Excalibur.

The Flash Comics cover I posted earlier, with Jay battling the spider-man, is a favourite because it's just so absurd, but wonderfully dynamic and action packed. It sums up beautifully the crazy, anarchic spirit of some of the best comics of the Golden Age.
The Excalibur cover with the guy with the mop is a very funny, very clever piece which breaks the fourth wall and subverts our expectations beautifully. Alan Davis is great at this kind of stuff.
The Captain Atom cover, I love partly for its historical significance (that was the first image of Ted Kord ever published, down at the bottom of that cover) but mostly because I just love Ditko's original design for Captain Atom.

It's not that they are from the golden age, it's just that for me they are poorly composed and sometimes not drawn well. It's just a matter of taste. Not saying you shouldn't like what you like. Originally Posted by tony ingram

Simple, it explains the premise of the story with a poster, but where many books would go with only the poster, Kirby added Ben's actual hand and expressed his feeling perfectly. A simple and powerful statement. It's one of my favorite F4 covers.

Yeah, these are pretty cool.
I probably shouldn't have said poorly drawn, since many are from all time greats, I just found the compositions and posing not very dynamic on many
