A lot of the problems and "problems" of today were around Way Back When. The thing is that we talk about them now....

They funny thing is that a large majority of the people who "want their America Back" weren't even born or were too young to remember any of the "good times". And alot of them don't want to give up their free porn on the internet.

Much of it is the rural/urban thing. They fear all the menaces of the Big City (including minorities and non-christians) forcing some manner of deviancy down the throat of Real America.

The thing that gets me is how the clean cut people in suits attempting to fix elections get so much less attention than the black guy in a beret helping old ladies into the voting areas.

To be fair, Eisenhower did balance the budget. Even if it was by doing the exact opposite of everything modern Republicans want to do to balance it.

America has never had high quality public education.

That is because unlike other nations..our schools primary function at inception was to keep minors out of the work force..not to properly educate. but to Indoctrinate.

America's public schools used to be the envy of much of the world.

Queensland used to have a single public school that went past Grade eight.

State High was regarded as dangerously progressive and arousing unrealistic expectations.
