You're confusing the UN and the Instrumentality Project, I suspect. A quick look at the wiki seems to confirm my memory that he wasn't officially part of the UN,

And once you've determined that your target is a man whose location you have no idea about? Keeping in mind that this is someone so paranoid that he appears only as an hologram when talking with his four closest associates.

It *might* be possible to succeed, but really, it's very unlikely and involves a lot of handwaving.

AT-Fields cover mental effects, as shown quite clearly by Arael and the very nature of Third Impact.

Additionally, the possession is, according to the wiki, only feasible on someone unaware of your presence. Tabris detected (and could apparently hear) Misato when she was so far away that she had to use goggles to see him.

Hmm I see I guess your right.

Yeah but he has to get his money from somewhere, I mean either owning a bussiness, being involved in politics, having criminal connections, etc. His influence has to actually come from somewhere I mean I doubt Keel has mind control to get the UN to do what he and SEELE want.

Well what about using timestop when you run into Tabris? I mean I don't think any of the angels had super speed so he shoulden't be able to do anything if you stop time and run away?

    Sure.

The problem is that by the time you get to the TV Series, Keel and SEELE have effectively been running the world for over a decade. (And SEELE has itself been around for centuries, though presumably not with it's current members.) Thanks to their foreknowledge of Second Impact, they had an immense influence over how society recovered from it, to the point that they probably don't even have to do anything to get their finance - they could just have built it into the system. We're talking about a level of power and influence that is on another scale from anything in the real world.

Add to it the time limit or having to take them out before Third Impact, and it's hard.

The first scenario is probably possible and the second might be, but there just isn't enough time in the third one.

Six seconds isn't really enough to get out of his range, unless the teleporting is significantly more potent than the other powers.

I mean, asssuming Keel isn't hanging out in their moonbase (or it's first series equivalent), you should be able to avoid Tabris altogether, but if you did encounter him and he figures that you're an enemy I'm not seeing an escape being really possible.

Thinking on it now yeah, your not going to kill Seele.

Gendo will go down easy, due to the fact he is within range.

But yeah, them bastards are more so. (The freakken Moon!?! So they want to make humanity into orange juice, to rule it?)

We have no idea what they actually want in Rebuild. In the original series, at least, they made sure they were in Third Impact range.

Oh, they want Gifts? I'VE got some gifts for those losers.

    Monster Slaying 101. MUNCHKING Style!!

They keep the cash and the bodybags coming, I keep the monsters away from their little science project in the basement.

Of course I quit reading the comic after Super-Sniper Angel or so, so I may get thrown for a loop by the inevitable end-game plot twists, but if my experience has taugh me anything, it's that the shadey conspiracy nuts that secretly rule the world will get blown up by one of their own projects gone horribly wrong sometime after a RPG protagonist enters the picture.

No see, that's SEELE's game plan.

That's why they succeeded unlike all those inferior conspiracies.

Well THAT'S annoyingly self-fufilling. Guess I have to stay on Shinji's good side, and remind him to bring us all back from being Orange goo, or whatever it is he does around here.
