Remender tied up my concern with NC. Golly, he doesn't let down.

i already knew nightcrawler wouldnt survive this story.. he was bent on revenge
Funny how he yells at people that he's not their Kurt only to suffer a hand through the chest just like our Kurt. And then he has the gull to talk about forgiveness when he threw the team under the bus in the name of revenge, finding it was all worth it.
Holding out for a Peter/Miles team up.
It's nice to see that Psylocke is still a clever telepath.
I suppose if they show him gasping his last or have a dead body, he'll be dead, otherwise it's your typical comic invitation into limbo if nothing further is shown. (Last time Darkholme was seen, EVA put a blade through his gut....) At least someone from the team called a spade a spade. I guess it leaves it open for him to show up the next time a writer takes an interest, should that ever happen.
I would really have liked to see the Mystique thing touched on more -- that feels like a very loose end, given their conversation.

I hope AoA-crawler survives and turn up in the AoA sderies, he would fit there quite nice.
Wer know where Deadpool, Domino, Deathlok and Wolverine each end up.
Makes me wonder what will happen to E.V.A. Will she become the new character 'Cluster'? or somehow merge with Fantomex and become 2-in-1? Or just get killed?
I must admit I becoming to like the Omega kids. They are cruel. But probably will be all killed at the end of this story. same for Skinless-Man, I think.
Hmm we haven't seen Skinless Man since being gutted by Wolverine, have we? Maybe he's not even alive anymore. :P
Hopefully with Shadow King jumping into Evan's mind next issue, Psylocke jumps right in to finish off Farouk and then maybe use Evan to kill Daken. Otherwise, I don't really see Evan being a killer just yet.
I really doubt Nightcrawler is dead. Would they really show the death blow in a preview?
Kurt has to die. He gave into his revenge and betrayed his friends. He chose personal revenge over doing what was right. He's lost.

But what does it add to the story to kill him at this point? The theme RR is going for with the remaining X-Force is being the "better" man/woman, and choosing to not kill randomly, right(nurture over nature)? That's what Fanto chose, Wade, Betsy and that's where it's headed with Logan and Evan. Kurt is not the better man, as has been shown (and in direct opposition with the original). EVA called him out on it and called him what he is -- though I would have used "self righteous" rather than "pious" and see him as more manipulative and opportunistic rather than a coward. He was presented as snivelling and making excuses and dared to ask for forgiveness when he never offered it. Now he has to live with what he's become (a man not unlike AoA Iceman). What does it improve about the story to have him attacked again and finished? I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but compare him to Gollum (LOTR) with the way he acted in the encounter with EVA. :P

It doesn't necessarily have to add anything in and of itself, as it's simply a part of what you're describing. The the final and complete result of his choices and actions.
Interesting that you should bring up Gollum. His destructive obsession led to his death, much as Kurt's most likely will.
I think that preview was pretty awesome. EVA reminds me of the T-1000 with those arms.
I suppose what I'm getting at is that killing the character, after he got his ass kicked by EVA and she told him the truth about himself would feel like a gratuitous death, not a completion. The point has already been made.
After abandoning Jean, Victor and his world (Gateway is dead, he can't get home at this point)for the sake of revenge, he had nothing left but X-Force, and that was a begrudging placement. Now he's betrayed them, like Bobby did the X-Men of his world. In a sense, death might be a kind of relief, as he would die without ever taking ownership of what he'd become -- his excuses to EVA show that he still partially believes himself justified, enough to ask for forgiveness. I'd rather see some writer somewhere down the line pick him up from this point and see what they can do with him. /shrug
