The Lost Year. Looks like it's collected in two volumes, so six issues each I assume. The beginning was strong, and the end was cool enough. The middle was something, but I've literally forgotten most of it. It's an interesting exploration of what the Authority, as a team and a concept can be, especially since they can't be what they were created to be anymore.

    Good man!

Small word of warning though - Ellis's Stormwatch is all good (except the Jim Lee issue), but it's in the third volume where the quality goes really high.

Bah. The Jim Lee issue was cool. Creepy, passionate, sturdy...

And it's big solitary imagery which is pretty much where Lee's strength is (even though I think he's a better sequential storyteller than he gets credited for).

And the first stories Ellis did were tight. The Father issue was good stuff. The stuff at Clark's.

Yeah I'm not expecting much from the Lost Year arc, but I feel it's worth reading at the very least.

It's a shame Morrison didn't stick with the book. I read his Wildcats issue, and while it wasn't great, I think he could have given the whole Wildcats concept its full potential.

Just the opposite for me. I read it like a year or two ago, and it was as absurdly adolescent as ever.

What characters get the most time in the book?

I don't expect much else from Millar. But I found it less adolescent than a lot of his other work.

From memory (so probably wildly inaccurate):
    Jenny Sparks
    Jack Hawksmore
    Henry Bendix
    Jackson King

It's pretty evenhanded. Everybody except walking nuke Rose Tatttoo gets pretty much equal face time.

I think its moderately good; its definitely the highlight of the second volume. It's the only story you need to read to bridge with the Revolution maxi-series by Brubaker when things pick up again.
