No, I don't think they are actively trying to get rid of him.
They may drive him out to greener pastures like they do some writers with their practices, but I get the feeling at least one person in high capacity likes him. But, I don't have hope for Dark Avengers, I can see them letting him take the reigns of another book down the way. I'm surprised they didn't try him out on Winter Soldier.
