Idris Elba as James Bond?

Fassbender though? I think he's probably my top pick for Bond.

Fassbender, while I don't mind as Bond, would make a better Bond villain IMO. I hope that Nolan snags the directors chair for future Bond films. If theres any director thats capable he's the guy

Skyfall also looked like what could have been a pretty good send off for Craig if he chooses to exit the role. Better to leave on a good note than be like Brosnan and leave after doing a bad Bond Film(Die Another Day)

Im a Big Bond fan and i think Idris Alba is very good. He convinced me fully in Luther specially and in The Wire. I would rather see him in roles he get to act more fully emotional scope. Bond is franchise that you get stuck in. I want to see him shine on his own, his is great in Luther that i thought fully there was something really wrong with the cop he played. I want to be more impressed by Alba in his own roles and not be overshadowed and be the last Bond.

This is all only if he ever gets a chance to become Bond. Daniel Craig is more action,crime star that you dont miss out on other roles when he does many Bonds. I think Alba has show more drama ability in his tv roles. His films are usualy small,shallow roles. Before Pacific Rim that is.

Yeah Fassbender looks like a great Bond villain, he has shown he is good with villain roles. Plus his smile looks easily like over the top Bond villain.

From what I have seen Idris in (just Thor and Ghost Rider) I have a hard time picturing him as Bond. He just doesn't strike me as the Bond type. He is a good actor, and I like his work so far, and this has nothing to do with race. He just seems a bit to rough and tumble. More the kind of guy who would fight first and then go "aw, shit... I should have asked him a few questions before I beat him to death" kind of character.

Although I have to admit I had some of the same misgivings about Craig. But the three films seem to have been about his growing into the Bond we know. He was rough in the first, then by Skyfall he pulled off the penultimate Bond moment, when he dropped down into the moving train as its back end gets ripped off, stands up straight, straightens his cuff and walks forward. PURE Bond right there.

Danny John-Jules would have been good for Bond in his earlier days. But as he is now 53, he is too old.

Watch The Wire already. Check out Season 1. If you aren't hooked, then stop watching it after that. Each season tells its own story, then it grows from season to season. Elba's character is fairly prominent in the first year. S you can get a healthy dose of both the show and Stringer from S1.

Also...check out his British cop show LUTHER. 2 seasons, like 10 episodes total. It's solid.

Well aside from the whole "he's black" thing. Elba is way more Bond than Craig. I mean every new Bond movie that comes out they say it's the "best" Bond ever, whatever cause it's not. I'm guessing adjusted for inflation they aren't the highest grossing either. As for Nolan directing, I guess if you want a 3 hour Bond movie where he gets his ass handed to him,second guesses his every move, and has horrible action scenes with non-exotic locales-it could work.
