Really? What did you hate about it? I didn't read the 0 issue because of all the bad press, and I honestly didn't give a shit about any of the 0 issues so I took a month off from new issues. But I thought #13 was a pretty fun book.

To be fair, I only started following DC with The New 52 so my frame of reference isn't as rich as yours, but to me, #13 just felt like two incredibly disjointed stories forced together to form a tenuous link to the Death of the Family crossover. I really hated the whole chess story. It was ridiculous.

It was all symbolism geared toward the education system here in the U.S.

And having a bomb on the kids chest meaning it's just a matter of time before this blows up in our faces. In just a couple pieces of dialogue and a few panels of symbolic images, she packs so much in her work.
This is what I picked up from the last issue, and the couple pages of previews for #14.

I like Catwoman's leisure-time boots and jersey-knit shirt dress she was sporting in the most recent issue.

I haven't read, but there's usually some sort of underlying social commentary from Nocenti. It's kind of her trademark.

Sandoval is such a breath of fresh air after the dreck that was Melo. Here's hoping he has a chance to redesign her horrible biker costume.

I could really do without hamhanded social commentary though, especially in a CATWOMAN book. Sometimes you just want a Glamour mag in a sea of Economist issues.

I think this is precisely why I'm not enjoying Nonenti's stuff. I miss the kitschy shimmer of Winnick. Sandoval has far exceeded my expectations though. His art is much better on Catwoman than it was on Legacy, especially in the preview for #14.

I have hope for some more glamour in the near future. I feel Ann can bring the levity and whimsy that a Catwoman book needs. She did it with her first arc on Green Arrow, despite what detractors feel.

I got a copy of the AvX hardcover with my free bonus points last Friday. I don't remember selecting it for my shopping cart, but whatever. This whole book has a digital code that came with it, which I have most of it in digital form already. I should have a contest to give the code away.
