It makes no sense considering all the people around him have a lot more experience. well, i'd love to see Cap recruiting Sunfire, and explaining Rogue's prescence on the team. Did she absorb his powers with his permission? i forget.

No. He actually told her to take them so she could escape. Since he'd kinda given up hope after having his legs cut off.

Re: Jan. I don't really remember that either. I'd have to pull my Avengers: Beast HC off the shelf.

If she did have some issue, it was probably be he wouldn't wear some ugly costume she made for him. ;)

So- how did sunfire get his legs back? And i was hoping Jan could redesign all the Xmen outfits.

What an odd thing to say. Does that mean you didn't read the majority of Busiek's Avengers and Shooter's Avengers? I imagine you already dislike the Avengers pretty heavy if you find Cap, Thor, and SW to be crap characters.
