Default Today's (Nov 14) Wednesday Comics are already available now online FYI

Comixology already has today's comics available to purchase now. I'm hearing the titles have been available since 9AM UK time.

Not sure if this is going to be a new regular thing. If so, I'm all for it! :)

Boo. I'm not. As someone who doesn't buy digital whenever I hear about something like this (digital first) or some kinda initiative (bonus content ...) that favors digital customers over physical ones I can't help but to feel just a bit put out. Despite my vehement anti-digital stance, I don't really care if others go that road but plans to promote digital sales over physical sales even if it's something minor such as digital first by a few hours makes me feel blah, as if those customers are favored over comic shops and the people who frequent them.

Way to be dismissive, bro... Your ability to take other points of view into consideration makes you a true hero.

At the same time, holding back the digital releases (even it's something as minor as a few hours)* and keeping digital prices in line with print unfairly penalizes digital readers. Assuming this was not just a mistake on Comixology's part, I think you'll be seeing more of this and digital-exclusive content in the future. Digital sales are going to be the future of the industry, and the only reason this stuff hasn't been pushed more yet is that the publishers don't want to completely alienate LCS owners and print fans.

*I'm not really complaining about the digital delay...when I bought print issues it took 2-3 weeks for them to get to Kuwait. Two or three hours is still a step up.
Be a fan of the creators, not the characters.

You kinda are... Did you seriously post something on a message board and not expect someone to disagree with you? I know a lot of people buy into the whole "digital is the future" line but I'm not one of them. It's fine to me if you want to get your books digital but I don't. Everyone has to make up their own mind on such matters. My brick and mortar comic shop is a great place (even though every once in a while they do something to get on my nerves) and I don't think it's a good thing for the industry to in anyway promote bypassing these or any other shops with digi-perks.
Ongoings I'm picking up: MANHATTAN PROJECTS, BEDLAM, FATALE, SAGA, THE WALKING DEAD, B.P.R.D. , CREEPY, EERIE, CONAN, DHP, HELLBOY, THE MASSIVE, MIND MGMT, STAR WARS, SAVAGE SWORD

    I applaud this DC, bravo.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.

Disagree with what, Mr. Immediate Boo? I wasn't posing any argument. Just stating matter-of-factly, hey something's for sale earlier than expected...do what you will with that info. There are actual threads that exist already pertinent to your disdain for digital delivery methods.

    Anyways, whatever, Dwight Schrute.

Near as I can tell, it's only DC's books right now. I'd say someone at Comixology messed up.

While I'm glad digital sales help you get your comics without the shipping time and while I wholeheartedly agree that digital comics should cost less because non-transferable access to them is worth less then a physical object. I don't really think that digital is the future. Especially not for me. I certainly think there's a market for it but I'm not in that market. I have no interest at all in buying digital comics especially under current conditions (readers and rights) and I think the world would be a much poorer place without LCS.

As far as I know, digital sales are just a fraction of physical sales but between the people who love them going on about digital being the future and the companies catering to the digital market over the physical one an uninformed person could be certainly fooled into thinking otherwise. Like I said before, I don't really mind if others go digital, but I don't want to. I buy my records on good heavy vinyl, my books on paper and will advocate for both.

I don't get the Dwight reference. I mean I know where it's from but I don't watch the show so I have no idea why you would make the comparison. I wasn't booing you, I was booing your digital first stance (as in I don't think it's a good thing). I think it's the wrong path for DC or any comics company. I don't feel the need to slam anyone for buying digital but I will certainly speak up if and when it looks like digital customers are being favored in practice (over physical customers and LCS) by DC or anyone.

I really doubt this was intentional, but I hope they do this every week! Or at the very least, put out their Wednesday books at a rational morning time (ex: 8 AM - 10 AM).
