Best jumping on point for Sonic Universe?

Hey, I just bought an iPad and decided to finally do what I always wanted to do and start reading Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm two issues in and its AMAZING. I started with issue 221 (Countdown to Genesis 5) because it seemed like a really obvious starting point. But it keeps mentioning its companion title, Sonic Universe. And I was wondering if there's a good place to start there somewhere around the same time period as Countdown to Genesis?
