Question only just catching up on WW - Qs.

i had a stock pile from a while ago (a year or more?) from 610 of the last run till now. today i've done em all upto 7. now, the thing that hephestus said about the amazons and trading male children for weapons - was that true or the unreliable narrator?

i mean amazons don't have kids so....?

also, i've read nothing of the new 52 bar what appears in the new WW comic (miss gails run frankly so far) and so don't know if this history is different or not (still need to finish off a lot of other stuff).

    ta all

read all the issues before you ask questions

SPOILERS - The Amazons in the new 52 make there way to passing ships every 20-30 years and F%%k the entire crews then kill them, and the children that come from this, the females are kept to be raised as amazons and the males are given to hephestus as workers, yeah its F####d
glad Hera killed all the Bitches

me too in that case. they deserve it. so they're not immortal then?

this kinda screws the whole mythos though. i mean they're not even remotely good and just xenophobic - they're people that *actually* deserve to be nuked and commit genocide as there would literally be no innocents and civillians.

i'll finish the rest of WW tonight but not sure i like this at all. i mean even having them all snaked kinda removes the possibility that WW would have to kill the amazons herself (or let them live and kill innocent people).

might have to think about reading the rest now :( is the whole DC franchise this fubarred now?

edit, any chance that diana has a brother that was discarded by hypolita?

It was never mentioned (or I believe "intended") by the writer to leave out a blood-brother of Diana's. The next writer can come along and make it happen though!

would be interesting - she has a half brother (not fathered by zeus) out there - a normal guy, no powers or anything.

Could do something like She-ra and we discover that Wonder Woman has a twin brother or sister who was stolen and taken to another dimension by a star pupal or star mentor for Hippolyta.

to have powers wouldn't the guy have to have been fathered by big Z? if it was some normal sailor dude he'd basically be a male amazon right? nothing special?

Perhaps the other shoe to fall is that Hippolyta had twins, although another possibility would be a sexual encounter with a regular sailor; or it could be the tragedy that Wonder Woman's brother was killed and Hippolyta does not want to mention that for obvious reasons.

Who says Diana's brother has to be human?

What if it was the Minotaur!

if polly comes back (she will) then having a discarded half brother who wants nothing to do with the amazons would be a hell of a thing to keep mother/daughter apart. especially with dianas instinct to protect the fella and help him in his life. he might have a wife and kids which of course would make D an aunt and polly a grandma - but never allowed to see her grandkids.

I have been reading Wonder Woman since the 1970's

I love the characters (Batman & Superman also).

Brian and Cliff have created one of the most fun Wonder Woman runs I have read in many many years.

After George Perez left the book many years ago.
Wonder Woman was just a book I read because of my love for the character and reading comic books.

But most of the issues never compared to many other comics being published at the time.

The New 52 Wonder Woman series has been amoung the best comics being published over that time
and has introduced and created a Wonder Woman and friends and family that grow better
with each issue and makes re-reading the whole run every few months not only a must; but a pleasure.
