Are they just going to throw 'Avengers' on every comic book now? This doesn't seem much like an Avengers story.
Personally, I think because it's Arcade, they might go the virtual reality route. And yeah maybe some of you favorites don't make it out but I don't think they will essentially kill off that many characters without having a deus ex machina plot device.
New EP from the band Boom Bits coming soon! Check us at reverbnation.com/boombits
well these guys are Avenger in training, so technically the title fits
Damn. Perhaps i'm wrong then. Those stencils do look a lot more Battle Royalish than I thought would happen. They even have crazy face!! Still, I'll wait to give it full judgement.
Which is what I was thinking before. Perhaps they all have virtual reality helmets on and Arcade is trying to psychologically mess up people, rather than kill in this new murderworld.
It does look like all that development that Darkhawk got in his WoK space arc will be ignored. Hes fighting Chase Stein afterall. I can now see that Darkhawk is rather expendable and Chase will be rocking his armor soon.
The survivors will form a new "Young Avengers" type. team.
Hmm, no response to the 'Bird Signal...

Yeah, I can't quite believe they're willing to kill so many characters off after taking so long to establish them in other series. GOODBYE ALL THAT WE INVESTED IN HAZMAT. I can buy a couple dying, but to sell people on this, people have to die in number. And the whole talk of the nature of it changing after a bit, that's got to be everyone rising up and trying to work together to escape somehow (though why they don't immediately when they have a magic user and fliers I guess needs to be explored).
To be honest, seeing Kev Walker on art makes me really sad, I want to buy his art, but this just leaves an ill taste in my mouth. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's really clever and not just a death fest.
"I was going to use Molly from the Runaways, but decided that having a character that young would be tonally problematic, but I turned off the part of my brain that was concerned with the well-being of the characters when it comes to the cast."
So, tonally there's a difference between having 5 year olds get murdered versus, say, 15 or 16 year olds? If they really do end up killing every character but one, I'm going to be seriously creeped out. I also think it might be a good idea to check the author's backyard for bodies. I know the response is, "No one has read it yet, so they don't know what they're talking about." That's true - but we're responding to the advertising copy you're putting out there. We're responding to the fact that Marvel appears to think it's fine to have as a marketing push the systematic murder of 20 teenagers.
What do you call the systematic murder of 20 teenagers?
A good start!
I kid, I kid. But seriously. Stay off my lawn.

Very powerful interview.....plus it's eerie that the (Variant) Cover for Issue #4 was one that somebody speculated of a Match-up between those two in mind.
Still, it's good that the Writer didn't included another particular Runaway for the reasons as he mentioned (along with certain Mutants that he did wanted).
Dennis Hopeless, in my opinion, has gone out of his was to push the point that this book won't be tactless murder fest. And I'm inclined to trust him. I do really love some of these characters, but I trust that whatever Hopeless ends up dong with this characters, whether I like or not, will be done with thought, and tact.
I've never had a signaure before. This is pretty rad.
