Now I'm not talking in terms of character origins, what I speak of is respect for the Characters. To be precise I want more stringent respect of continuity. For example, just have one Avengers book & let that ship twice a month. I don't want Spider-Man, Hulk or Wolverine to be members. By shipping 24 issues a year you can utilize multiple members(Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Hank Pym, Wasp, Tigra, Black Knight, Vision, Scarlet Witch, etc.....).
The other non-mutant marquee team book could be The Defenders(consisting of many of the characters in Hickman's New Avengers Now title). Solo books for Cap, Iron Man and Thor. The mutant side would have 3 team books; All New X-men(I love the concept of the new Bendis penned book), Wolverine & the X-Men and X-Force. Those 3, that's it. And there should be completely different sets of characters for each book that never appear in each others titles except if it's a crossover(and the first 2 titles mentioned should also ship twice a month). Only solo mutant books should be Deadpool & Gambit(with neither of these 2 appearing in any of the 3 previously mentioned team books.) No Wolverine Solo!!!!!!!!!! Marvel has lowered his level of "coolness" due to all the titles he appears in(DC is worse if you consider that Batman has 5 monthly solo title plus the Justice League and whatever guest appearances he makes in other titles-RIDICULOUS).
As for the non-mutant & non-avenger books they should have the Hulk, Punisher, Fantastic Four(shipping twice a month), Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Deathlok, Ghost Rider, Marvel Man(integrated into the Marvel Universe and I'm positive they can get a top tier writer for this integration once all legal hurdles are completed), Master of Kung-Fu and Captain Britain & MI-13. Superior Spider-Man(also shipping twice a month), Venom and Scarlet Spider for the spider line of the company.
ALL of the titles that I've previously mentioned should be $3.99 but have their story page count be at 30 pages and have an Annual every year. They should also have a weekly 24 page book @ $2.99(one featured character/s per issue but each feature could span anywhere from 1-5 issues) highlighting characters that do not appear in any of there other titles. Marvel should also suck it up and take advantage of the Malibu characters(just pay the royalties or give one lump sum to the creators). Sign talent to title exclusive contracts not company exclusive ones. I don't care if this penciller, writer, inker, colorist, cover artist or letterer also works for DC, Image, Dark Horse, Archie, Dynamite, Boom, IDW, Oni or anyone else as long as they produce top tier work for the title marvel contracted them for. This way every single title can have an excellent team working on it as they won't be spread too thin across multiple books and still have the freedom of working for other companies. Each title could easily top 100k issues sold per month with the more popular ones selling anywhere from 300-500k.
The Editors(especially the Chief must manage character continuity). I remember when guest appearances and cross-overs meant something(I'm only 39 so I'm not speaking of a long time ago). Marvel should also put more focus on original graphic novels and limited series. In the short term they may make less money due to not having multiple Avenger, Wolverine, Spider-Man or X-Men books but in the long term Marvel and the Comics Industry as a whole will be much healthier and more profitable. This exact same model should be followed by DC as well. Respect=Qulaity=Popularity=Success=PROFIT.
