Me personally, they should just get a fill in artist for a few issues and allow Cassaday a chance to churn out some issues with a bit of a lead time. I'm really suprised that they're letting so much momentum slip on what's supposed to be their flagship title.

I disagree, that always makes collected editions read worse. Monthly comics are temporal, in the long run most of the readers will be trade readers.

Yeah. People think they want instant gratification, but look at the way everyone lost their minds when Silvestri needed help on Incredible Hulk.

Since I have a pull list at my LCS I wouldn't even have noticed.

I buy digital, so the discount thing doesn't work for me.

Honestly, the delay just makes me want to drop it, it wasn't impressive enough to warrant waiting for what looks like it will be a mediocre product. If it turns out to be phenomenal, then sure I could always pick up the trade. There are plenty of other books on the docket that look more worth it, and are unlikely to experience delays.

It's also a principal thing. If a product is advertised as a monthly offering, then it should be a monthly offering.

With alot of titles double shipping, I enjoy getting my single issues and I personally hate trades. If I wanted a book, I'd buy a book, I want a comic. I really don't take issue with having several artists work on one title. There's plenty of artists that can put out an issue of content on time and I have no interest in trade waiting since I think alot of the fun is reading things that happen concurrently.

I did the whole trade paperback thing to get caught up a few years back when I was getting into reading comics again. I ended up replacing alot of those collected editions with singles in the long run.

Holy shit, I would have NEVER realized that without your timely words of wisdom!

Obviously nothing goes perfectly all the time, but that shouldn't stop people from believing that sometimes, things are actually delivered as promised. Wild idea, I know.

At the end of the day, we're all bitching about a luxury product no one needs, so we could just end all arguments of every flavor by just saying 'don't like it don't buy it.' But that would be so, so very boring.

I'm actually even more surprised that for such a big title, Marvel had so few issues in the can before releasing #1.

Personally I have no problem criticizing Marvel for an inability to ship a certain book on time because Marvel has no trouble puffing up their chests & bragging about being able to keep books on schedule. If they want to sit here & tell us how proud they are that Avengers vs X-men almost didn't miss a beat throughout the duration of the event OR that ASM shipping 3x hardly missed a beat then they shouldn't have a problem taking heat from their fans with this or something like the S.H.I.E.L.D series which went off its schedule a while back.

    Seems perfectly fair to me.

At this point, I think Hickman's Avengers book has to be viewed as the flagship title.

Im still curious as to why Marvel didn't get enough issues under the belt before they turned the book out.

    It seems odd.

I'm sure Marvel execs are understanding, it's only their touted flagship title

I questioned this from day 1, Hickman's Avengers seemed like it would naturally be #1, maybe that will come to pass. But we'll also see how Uncanny X-Men does too since that wasn't part of the original Marvel Now announcements
