Default "Earth One" OGNs & Expanding Digital Help DC Sales Grow Over 2012

DC Comics sales are up 18% from last October, and SVPs John Cunningham and Bob Wayne explain how efforts from "Superman Earth One" to digital sales of the New 52 drove the growth as they prep "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."

Best direct market numbers since 1997?

    HOT. DAMN.

I should note, the 1997 thing is not unique to DC or caused by DC. It's the market as a whole that hit a high point, and plenty of other publishers contributed to that happening. More here: http://blog.comichron.com/2012/11/oc...-gn-sales.html

Up is up--and if it's up for *all* publishers and retailers? Even better. This is a great thing.

Also, credit where credit is due: much of the return of lapsed customers began with DC's gigantic multimedia publicity push for the New 52.

Very true. If I were at DC, I'd put out a memo: "You're welcome."

You would actually say that people are welcome for giving you money? And exactly how would this endear you to people?

I believe he meant putting out a memo to other publishers and retailers to take credit for raising the public profile of comics as a whole with their New 52 push.
Be a fan of the creators, not the characters.
