As a fan of DC I have to ask.The interviewer seems respectfull and positive about DC.So why does John Cunningham come across as such a defensive jerk? Not that Bob Wayne was much better...

link needs a fixing, but I got to the article anyway...
as for Cunningham, I can see how one could interpret the text as being defensive. But I (as being right-brain dominant) prefer to see how he said it. He could've been just calm and matter-of-factish in his attitude. Towards the end where he said the question was "bizarrely speculative", maybe he was kinda chuckling, who knows. I know a lot of times ppl come off as abrasive in text (i.e. these forums) when they're really not. If I were to see the interview, I could make a better judgment.
Comics were happier before the Internet turned writing superhero stories into fruitless attempts to impress/entertain a small group of ppl who appear to hate comics and their creators.
Grant Morrison
A one off. I read the Newsarama interviews with the DC execs because they are usually insightful. The DC numbers thread had a discussion, some said the interviewer was asking editorial relevant questions, others said the execs hadn't drunk coffee that morning and were pissed off by the numbers. After DC selling sod all since Blackest Night or before, it might well be the former.
