I don't think Bendis has any interest in writing the UXM team, or Thunderbolts: X-Men. I could be wrong, but he seemed really hooked on his vision for ANXM from the little bit of interviews I read. Has he even talked about his plans for UXM?

Avengers is Bendis' blip. The majority of the rest of his portfolio of work, at Marvel and elsewhere, is really very good.

Nah, he's dropped the ball quite a few times (Ultimate Power, Ultimate X-Men done in one story aside, Elektra, Spider-Woman, etc.), but his wins still outnumber his loses at this point.
