But since he's gotten his tendrils in bobop's and RR's hearts looks like S/D is here to stay

I'll admit, I set my expectations to high for the Runaways, and let's admit, the vampire arc was really bad. Still didn't wish Arena upon them.

And the New X-Men thread had you, Peter F. and others in the same spot.

I don't think I've watched a single episode of Two and a half Men ....just a scene or two while surfing. What is obscene is that on a mediocre show like that has earned Aston Kutcher 20 million dollars. It makes me suspicious of ratings. I can't ever think of a time when someone at work or maybe a family gathering where it ever was a topic of conversation except when Sheen lost his mind.

You're lucky. I don't have any family members who claim it to be great or anything like that, but I know I have some that watch it and they wouldn't shut up when Sheen was going crazy. Talking TV with family is the worst.

My family can't grasp that I don't have a TV License, so I probably haven't watched whatever they're talking about. I generally don't like British TV, so I just download all my favourite American shows.

I don't think I've ever head anyone say "I watch 2 and a Half Men"...I thought (hoped?) that show was going to be cancelled years ago.

My mom watches it and it's something she discusses with her aunt over the phone. It depresses me.

The ratings thing is crazy. Something like one Nielson box represents 500k people. And a lot of people are questioning the validity of the system (even moreso) as ratings were relatively unaltered directly after the big storm wiped out all that electricity on the East Coast.

It's possible that one person with a ratings box could save a show.

With all that said, there are a lot of people that like awful stuff. Hanna Montana was a thing, apparently.
