Default Anyone Reading "The Sixth Gun?"

I jumped on this during a Comixology sale. I read the first couple at .99 and loved it. So I bought the series up to a couple of months ago. (those Comixology sales are a great way to try out independent books) I am not up to date yet but from the 16 or so I have gotten through, it is a fun comic. It is in the post Civil War West with mystical revolvers, voodoo, mummies, cutthroats, swindlers, the undead everywhere, and Methodists... the recipe for a book that just needs a halfway decent writer and away we go. The book is well written and, with all the conventions and literary devices thrown around, it doesn't slow down. Character development isn't the foremost concern but the characters are likable. If anyone thinks this style sounds good, definitely give it a try.

Been trade-waiting it (got all 3 vols so far. ...it is just 3 right?!?). I have mixed feelings about trade-waiting, but I'm sticking w/ it on Sixth Gun, so I'll never be fully current on whats going on.

But what I have read I really do enjoy. I'm becoming a big fan of Bunn and absolutely love Hurtt's style.
Comics were happier before the Internet turned writing superhero stories into fruitless attempts to impress/entertain a small group of ppl who appear to hate comics and their creators.

I'm reading it. It's very good in parts, though there's the occasional forgettable issue. Like, the current Wendigo arc was boring until the actual mechanics of the Wendigo were explored. I thought the silent issue was excellent. Really, really liked it. Ad having an in-story reason for it was great.

That said, Westerns bore me unless they're genre mashes, which is the main draw for me.
Looking for artists, know I won't find any. That blows.

I also picked up most of the issues during that comixology sale, so I'm up to I think issue 23 so far. Absolutely love it, especially the art style. Excited to see where the story goes and if our "heroes" can resist the corruption of the guns. Good stuff.

Easily one of the best--and most under looked--comics out there. Great writing and great art. What more do you want?

Big fan. Just hope Bunn doesn't go the Snyder route and ditch it in favour of more Marvel work.

Yup. It's a lot of fun. They are turning it into a tv series now supposedly.

It's a finite series and Bunn seems happy with Oni. I think it was even announced that he's launching a new series with them.

Reading it, and lovin' it. I first was slighlty worried I might not like it artwise as I wasn't that much of a fan of Hurtt's previous work I came in contact with, but he's totally killing it on The Sixth Gun. Plus there's the thing I don't really like Westerns......why did I try out this comic anyway? :D Oh yeah, because of all the good reviews, and they're totally deserved.

I also picked it up in the Comixology sale and am now buying the new issues. It's a title I had only heard good things about (albeit I hadn't heard a lot about it) and the praise is well-deserved.
