Default DC Miniseries "Just Imagine..." from Stan Lee

See, I've been a fan of Stan Lee and Marvel my whole life and I've been interested to read into what he would imagine the iconic DC heroes such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. in "Just Imagine..." But I'm interested in what you DC Comics fans think. Would you guys recommend this miniseries for me to read if I want to get into DC Comics? Why or why not?

    Nope. It was pretty horrible.

    Some great, GREAT art though.

Wonder Woman did have a great design. Never read the Lee/DC series myself, though.

I enjoyed the Batman and Green Lantern takes plus the formation of the Justice League. It's one of those comics that I find myself reading over and over again because it's just a very straight forward and well executed super hero story.

I like how that universe's Superman wasn't a desconstruction; he may be a little rough around the edges but still ultimately a good guy.

I agree WW's costume was pretty sweet and I like the transformation bracelet she has. I only remember her from the issues where the JL was formed but it was interesting she was this genuinely shy, meek person who becomes a strong, confident and warrior like person when she transforms. Even if it was a bit too much like a female Superman, it was still an interesting take no doubt.

In a way you could say it's a pretty good look on how Marvel would have done DC characters. It's a pretty decent read if you remember if they have little to nothing in common with the regular DC universe heroes. My favorite comics out of the line would be Batman, Superman, Justice League, Crisis, Flash and Green Lantern.

The ideas than Stan created for this series had both, pro and cons.

Cons: they were writed by Stan himself evocating the old style. If you liked the way Lee writed 30 year ago, fantastic, you will enjoy the series. If not, they are not your books.
Second, these are reimaginations than Stan made of the names of DC characters, no just Stan telling yet another tale of Superman, Batman, Wonder woman, etc. A lot of people was disspointed for this first impression.
Third, if you read between lines, you will find than the characters resembles his works in Marvel. And the general story was too much simple.

Pro: Stan proves he knows how to create universes. He created a full universe of potential inside 12 issues.
    The art, indeed, is amazing.
Even if the stories are simple, just origins stories, every one just give us new takes on the characters that you had not considering before: a Superman with an inferiority complex, a Batman fighting against his destiny, a very much fustrated Shazam, a Catwoman with a lot more under their skin. In one issue, Stan left seeds of creativity and potential. I think that's his greatest talent.

No. It's an alternate take on the DC universe, a Marvel influenced take. Even if the stories were good (which a lot aren't) it is in no way representative of the DC universe.
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated and well supported in logic and argument than others.

To be read on it's own merits and as an AU? Definitely yes.

As an introduction to the DCU characters? Definitely not.

These were pretty bad. Stan hasn't done anything good in... Geez, 20 or more years, with a lot of it embarassing. I don't even think this classifies as a "marvel" spin on the characters, they are just bad.

The Catwoman one was like reading about an entirely different character. Kind of the point, I know, but it pretty much killed my desire to ever read it again.

No. "Just Imagine. . . ." was awful. It made me so happy that Stan Lee didn't have a hand in any DCU creation.
