Default Should I read Amazing Spidey comics?

    Hello all,

I was wondering where is a good starting point to read Spidey, post-One More Day. I heard some good things about Dan Slott's current run and I want to jump on the bandwagon. Should I start with issue 546 onward? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Its been the flagship Spider-man comic ever since Spider-man first came long for 50 years! Of course you should read the Amazing Spider-man!! Although, the title is ending after # 700, and then comes superior Spider-man, but Dan Slott is still writing, and thats a good thing.

Personally, I would hop on right at the beginning of Brand New Day, issue 546. The early BND stories are kind of a mixed bag, but even the worst of the stories are OK. And there are some real gems in there too that you won't want to miss.

I think if you want to be up to date, start with #648, the beginning of Dan Slott's sole run. I haven't loved all aspects of it, but it's been very fun and interesting.

Anything you've missed between OMD-era and #648, you could use Wikipedia or something to catch yourself up, or just grab the handful of trades from Brand New Day that were really good.

Depending on how easily you can access/afford the issues, start at 546, 600, or 648. I started at 600 then later worked my way backwards to the early 500s. Apparently there are some threads that will tie together in 700 that were laid out in 600, so I recommend not starting after that unless getting 100+ issues worth of Spidey is going to be a challenge for you.

I would start with Superior Spider-man, then buy back issues/or trades of ASM, Scarlet Spider, Venom, & The Carnage minis.

Forget ASM, start with Chapter One - the definitive origin.

Totally read it. Slott's run has been pretty rad.
