Fuck yeah. Butt wings pretty much shits on ANY upgrade Bendis & Bachalo might give the others.

I love Hickman's twitter and formspring. He's clearly mental and does not give a single fuck, which is why people who take his answers seriously make me giggle.

He does in fact have it but writers tend to forget it exists. I remember first learning about it in exiles of all places when mimic used his power and noone could contact him because of the anti psi properties it had. He also has a few other secondary properties like not having to breath underwater for example.

I thought he was an anathema to magic. Don't recall him the telepathy thing cause it's been used on him so frequently.

Exactly, I don't recall immune to TP, I brought up the Psylocke panel (austria outback X-men days) simply it showed he wasn't immune but the only reason in that panel he was able to get close to getting psylocke in that sparring was because of muscle memory reactions.

Him being strong against magic should come back and get amped up as well, so Magik won't embarrass him so utterly when next they meet.

Actually, Cyclops broke up with Emma during UXM #18. Know your Gillen facts.

Granted, Bendis will most likely s*** all over it, but there it is for now.

File it under stuff like Iceman being able to make icecream or really anything he learns about using his powers, Angel hovering like a hummingbird, all of Gambit's powers that don't involve charging cards, professor X's limited telekinesis and psiblasting, and numerous other powers that mysteriously vanish over the years.

I find your anathema to magic description interesting. Does that mean the properties of Magik's soulsword are genetic(highly unlikely since souls shouldn't have genetics) or simply that it's ability stems from symbolizing the protection she felt from her big brother by taking on the properties of his skin?

Colossus will be able to communicate directly with whales and lobsters.

Seriously, an upgrade and/or perhaps a dangerous spin on their powers may be what's up. For Colossus, I doubt it'll have anything directly to do with Cyttorak since his connection was severed by Illyana. Otherwise, Chris wouldn't have referred to the Phoenix portion of their powers. So, something cosmic perhaps? Most likely not. And just because Petey isn't the avatar of Cyttorak doesn't mean that Cyttorak may not be visiting him in his dreams (reads nightmares) for future destruction. I guess we'll find out January in re to Colossus and perhaps February/March for the other P4 (not sure the shipping plan for Namor).

That would be seriously stupid. Scott's whole power set is based on shooting those straight blasts and knowing whats around to use the environment to his advantage. This is no longer used in the comics, by the way. If he has total control over where they go it pretty much negates what the character is.

It would be like giving Wolverine the power to shoot claws, which means it's stupid. Wolverine is a close rage fighter so giving him a range attack is counterproductive.

How does that negate who he is as a character? It wouldn't change the way he fights at all, it just makes it easier for him if he can shape the blasts. He can make 'em straight or he can bend them, its nothing like letting Wolvie shoot claws.

It's about time Scott got a power boost. The damned Phoenix is good for something.

ME: Chris Bachalo has said that, "Characters powers have been 'adjusted' as a result of the Phoenix Five fallout." On a scale of 1 to 10, how awesome are Namor's post P5 adjusted powers?

JONATHAN HICKMAN: He has butt wings now.

BUTT WINGS! Read it an weep, suckers! No other 'powers adjustment' for the rest of the P5 is going to beat that! The only thing better would be FLAMING BUTT WINGS!
    LMAO!

Hickman's Formspring is hilarious, I recommend even if you're not reading one of his books (and if you are not, you're crazy).

It wouldn't change how he fights, it would change the character. Scott's character is in LARGE part defined by his powers. Anything the permanently gives him more innate control over his powers or makes them less dangerous is going to change his characterization. Cyke has to maintain constant control of himself at all times or he will kill someone, that is a huge part of his pathos.
Black characters always get looter powers.
