Man, could I possibly love Asmus any more? He has the fan's joy and deep pool references, but he doesn't write like a converted fan who constantly needs to pay tribute to a character's stagnant legacy. His Gambit the thief is no prior Gambit, but it's still Gambit.I loved that book. The original "Excalibur" series is one of the most influential comics to me and one of my favorite comics. It was the first X-Men book I ever got and I followed it through its various permutations. Probably the biggest highlight of the book's later years was Pete Wisdom, as created by Warren Ellis.
So the Paul Cornell-Leonard Kirk run of "Captain Britain & MI:13" was one I really enjoyed and wished lasted longer. We actually got Leonard Kirk to do some extra pencils setting up the next arc. So all that's left is for me to give Paul Cornell my job writing "Gambit" and the tribute will be complete!
I'm so excited by the quality he's brought to Gambit, and I hope the monthly sales stay solid enough that my trade-wait buys are a meaningful show of support.

I am not an Avengers fan nor an X-Men fan.I am a Marvel fan for life.
Check out Gambit by James Asmus. You won't regret it!
Every interview always makes the book sound exciting. Its fun for the writer and you can tell and it translates onto the page which is also a neat thing. IA with you J/O/J/O with both comments. :)

i loving this book even more now
Neves Art doesn't look quite as dynamic as it did on DK. That being said how is this title, i haven't heard much about it but i wanted to give it a try.
I just flagshipped in my pants!

I love that he referenced his visit to cbr.

It's a pity Clay Mann isn't drawing Gambit going head-to-head with Wisdom. Nothing against Neves but that's the sexy.
Faiza is great. I wonder if those asking for flesh will get more than they bargained for.
