    Default Marvel NOW Shipping Quandry

I just received my "shipping next week" list from my LCS and saw at least 4 Marvel Now #1's (All New X-Men, Thor God of Thunder, Fantastic Four & X-Men Legacy) all shipping next week. Now I don't have any particular issue with this, but I thought Marvel was planning on staggering the release so we were only getting 1 #1 each week. Personally I think it's wiser to put a few out, but I thought this was how they were "distancing" themselves from DC's relaunch.

Did I miss a press release? Just curious...

Well there were a lot more than 4 new Marvel Now titles announced for November so there was no way they were only releasing one a week.

I could be wrong, but I think the line all along was that there would be at least one new #1 every week until February, the key words being at least. It would take us halfway through next year to get all the titles going if they only launched one at a time. That's too long to wait for flagship-caliber titles.

You may be absolutely right; we'd have to dig up the original announcements to be sure, but I could have sworn they said it was going to be only 1 a week. I remember looking at a calendar and thinking the very same thing you said above...man that will take a while to get them all out. At the same time, that's one of the big things they were claiming as different than DC's relaunch. It's not looking quite so staggered at this point.

IMO having titles releasing in October, November, December, January, and February is WAAAY more staggered than everything in the relaunching shipping in just one month.

That's true, and again I'm not complaining - I'd rather have more of them out sooner - I was just really surprised. I really thought they originally said 1 a week...
