Pull List: None. Moving to trade-waiting.
The Joker's face isn't really a big deal to me. After all, our hero Batman had his spine snapped in half by a roided out wrestler at one point. I don't see Batman in a wheelchair. So putting a face back on, no big deal.
Haha then I hope you weren't planning on staying on these forums for too long, 85% naysayers who have to rip apart any new comic story that appeals to a mass audience to keep their 'I like comics more than you and know absolutely all there is to know' mindset in order. They try way too hard and only come off as ignorant children who complain constantly lol
Still I dig tthese forums a lot, just gotta look past them lol
Gotta keep my PMA (even on CBR)
But was it because he was pissed off? Does the Joker work/think like that? I thought it was more about disappearing.
That or Snyder read about Aussie toe-cutter/criminal and best-selling-author Mark Brandon Read.
I think they have definitely been selling a "deeper change in the character" but I'm not sure it's meant to be "due" to his face. I took the loss of the face in the first place in Detective Comics 001 (2011) as a symptom of an overall, darker, change in the Joker. But that's just my interpretation.
Hahaha.. Yeah. Water off a duck's back. :-)
it felt too gimmicky when I first heard about it, but oh well. hopefully we'll get some answers in the next Batman issue
Currently reading: Animal Man vol 4
I've got some physical individual and some trades. I have to mail-order though.. I live in a beach town and there's no comic shop here.
I'm currently toying with getting the individual issues for a collection, or simply collecting individual issues I love, and then the rest via the trades.
:-/
How I've been rolling so far is to get a variety of comics digitally, then the Batman (2011 - ) in trades.. plus some individual issues of note (like issue 1 and issue 13). Then things like the absolutes etc.
But I'm very, very tempted to do Batman 2011 - in individual issues for a collection.
Snyder has said that this is "an angry Joker, a Joker with an axe to grind" and that the face-ectomy was sort of him throwing down the gauntlet to Batman (and apparently was about a year ago). He's talked about the face being a statement of how far he's willing to go now to prove his point. Or something... it really isn't as deep as that, I think, but we'll get some characters discussing why he'd do that soon, I'm sure.
Looking for artists, know I won't find any. That blows.
