Marvel's "Uncanny Avengers" Leads The Way In October

Marvel led the month of October in sales thanks to strong showings from the debut of Rick Remender and John Cassaday's "Uncanny Avengers" and the conclusion to the "Avengers Vs. X-Men" mega-event.

Frankly, I don't get why Volume one is still in the top 10 almost every single month. Hasn't everyone who wants a copy gotten one by now?!

I'm glad to see sales up across the board for most if not all publishers. It's a good thing for the industry. You'll always find people that prefer a particular publisher, but I would hope that we can all agree that when more comics are being sold it's good for the industry in general as well as for the fans in particular. I'm sure that the folks at DC are happy that their sales are up. While leading the charts is always fun, leading the charts but selling less than you did last year would not be a happy event.

DC is slipping out of the top sales slots. Bob Harras will be announcing 52 new First Issues this summer.

Basically this . The comic was gaining for issue #100 and with the 3rd season so close and people really wanting to see it....we get what we see. The show spiked interest in the comic. Its been working well for it the past 2 years.

Yeah but then in six months time, Marvel will cancel all the new Marvel Now! titles and relaunch them with new #1's.

According to Diamond's retailer site, comcis sales for October 2012 were down less than 1% from October 2011 - the second month of the New 52.

Graphic novel sales were up more than 50% in both dolalrs and units comapred to October 2011.

Year to date, units and dollars for both graphic novels ad are up by more than 10%.

That "temporary sales spike due to the DC relaunch" is looking less and less temporary.

Thats is most important to me, to see other comics than superhero, other publishers selling in Trades. Good for the field that is not only monthly sales Big Two sales that does well.

There are more good reprinting, new trades of other genres than ever it seems.
