Default Marvel/DC 'Battle Royale' Video Game - Character Rivalries

So having seen the intro to the new Playstation Battle Royale game out shortly and how it highlights that particular characters will be placed as rivals in the game due to similar characteristics - Uncharted's Nathan Drake and Sly Raccon both seen as treasure hunters and thieves for example - I wondered if there was a similar game for Marvel and DC if there would be a similar concept. So I came up with a bit of a challenge:

Imagine that against the overwhelming odds, Marvel and DC and Disney and Warner agree to making a Marvel/DC fighting game, similar to Smash Bros or Battle Royale. They make it so each side will have thirty characters - ten male heroes, ten female heroines and ten villains a piece. Sixty is I admit a high number of characters for a game but we can imagine it possible, right? And each character has a rival counterpart. Your challenge then is to make a list of rivals for the game with the rules set above. For the sake of avoiding people worrying over balancing each of the numerous teamsin each universe, don't worry if nearly all your Marvel characters are X-Men or DC characters Justice League. It's your list, after all. The only rule is that there needs to be ten male heroes, ten female heroes and ten villains of either gender on each side. Rivalries don't have to be hero vs hero or villain vs villain if you don't want to. Do try to give a quick reason why you're pairing those characters up, even if it does seem a tad logical. I'll stick my own list up at some point shortly. Here's the trailer which inspired me incidently: http://youtu.be/kDKXroc4Lsg

Given the two companies ape each other like crazy, this should be easier Kryptonians in a Kryptonite Cage with Red Sun Lighting.

Superman - Thor = Strong flying dudes who can blast things and have capes.
Wonder Woman - Ms. Marvel = Strong flying chicks.
Batman - Black Panther = Martial artists dressed in black suits based off animals who use high tech gadgetry.
Dr. Fate - Dr. Strange = Magical dudes.
Thanos - Darkseid = Big evil cosmic dudes.
Quasar - Green Lantern = Space flying dudes who make stuff with energy.
Namor - Aquaman = Swimming dudes who rule Atlantis and breathe underwater.
    Giant Man - Atom = Size-changing dudes.
Hulk - Solomon Grundy = Big, dumb, angry strong dudes.
Steel - Iron Man = Smart dudes in power suits.
Green Arrow - Hawkeye = Archery dudes.
Robin - Jubilee = They can make out while everyone wastes time beating each other up.

That's great for a debate, but I don't see any of Ollies trick arrows helping him against IMs armour. Though GA can beat Superman in Injustice and JL Task Force anyway. Video games are weird.

I'm going to throw a bit of a curveball and swerve away from the more obvious comparisons.

    Dr. Doom and Sinestro.

Both villains with a good side to them, Doom's will and Sinestro's fear should provide a suitable rivalry, and the fact that both powersets are augmented by artificial means (armour/magic/power ring) puts them in a similar category on that front.

They're also actually at similar power levels, though that may surprise people.
Tony Stark (to Thor): Doth Mother know you weareth her drapes?
    Won lots of stuff...

Give him the right arrows, he should do fine. Hawkeye's managed to disable Iron Man before.
