I also wish they had just called this the Fearless. For some reason it seems like Defenders is now being used as a catch-all for any non-mutant non-Avenger team. Still, the name is a minor complaint as I will be buying this.

Oh and add me in for another person hoping Hellcat shows up here. I love Felicia, but if I have to choose I'd rather read about Patsy. Or hey put Felicia on this team and give me a Hellcat ongoing.

Hellcat definitely does deserve a little more recognition, she did have one of the first two "Marvel" books after all (along with Journey into Mystery).

^ I still think them being anti-heroes coming together for the greater good also fits the bill. The way I see it, the cast and ideal of the Thunderbolts has constantly evolved.

Last I checked they're being led by "Thunderbolt" Ross. Pretty sure that qualifies them for the name.

As long as the old team gets props and the movie actually focuses on the old Thunderbolts team, then I'll be okay with it. But they better not erase it all.

Don't get me wrong, I want nothing more than for female-led titles to succeed, but I don't think I'll be picking this up based on what we know. If they reveal more of the cast (and I like them) I'll absolutely pick it up.

Of course, by then the pre-order cut off will have passed. I guess my point is Marvel is shooting themselves in the foot by trying to be secretive with a title that's already a hard sell.

That's not it. They don't put big names on books like this because they'd have to sell more in order to pay the artist/writer. That's why Nextwave was cancelled, sales couldn't support having someone like Immonen on the book.

It's why I feel like these books (Fearless Defenders, Morbius, X-Men Legacy) are dead in the water. Well, that and the fact Marvel's left a long trail of similar corpses in its wake (Captain Britain, New Exiles, Doctor Voodoo, Avengers Academy)...
