Why would Vera have told Pip that instead of a writen note? Guess she knows Longshot will be able to tell?

Was that Beast's Vera or another Vera?
"Vera" is almost "Vanora."

This was better than the Doop issue because it ended with the focus character dying
I was disappointed when Pip wasn't part of the initial Cull, so this was a nice surprise. It was quite painful until the end, though.
I hated this issue until the end.
Pip was just a little too gross for this to be funny or enjoyable.

Essentially, it's like the Doop story but different. The Doop story doesn't tell us much about Doop while here we the first person narration. There's also the twist with Vera which demonstrates that she was manipulating him when he thought he was manipulating her.
She doesn't look like Vera Cantor. When was she last seen anyway?
The difference between the Doop story and this is that this actually is also a story device, not just a stand-alone issue about a character. While it brought out characterization, it told a solid story in itself and served as a launchpad for the coming issues. I loved this issue, and it saddened me. After serving as a one-note character for a while you kinda forget why Pip went to X-Factor in the first place. Whatever happens in this god arc, I think Hela will be playing for X-Factor.

Wellokay I guess it was a decent issue and of course Layla will probably know this was gonna happen like always.
