See, this is where relative latent talent comes in.

As I said with Hokuto Shinken; Jagi trained his arse off every day and was a much better martial artist than I could ever hope to be. Guy punched down a tree to prove that he was even worthy of training. In like... ten years of training, alongside Kenshiro, Raoh and Toki, he still was hideously weak compared to them because they were all prodigies. I am worse than Jagi so I would worse at HSK than him.

I know little of Saint Seiya, but Seiya is meant to be pretty amazing at his martial art and was trained since he was... what... ten to do it?

All we know is that Cassios kicked his ass every time they fought previously. The instant he realised his cosmos, he went from being beaten by essentially just a really big dude, to being blatantly superhuman. Multiple characters who are too young for "a lifetime of training" to mean very much have achieved this, and they don't all come across as prodigies, so it's got to be a power that is reasonably possible to realise in a relatively small number of years. Three years of hard training when I already have a basic understanding of what cosmos is (masters not telling their students what they're aiming for in plain English has always been kind of silly) should give me a decent chance of achieving the same power jump. No, I won't be Seiya, but I'll be plenty superhuman.

I wonder what kind of aliens we're being invaded by?

Because we've got multi-mach speedster bricks with ridiculous skills on the table.

Oh, becoming a Celestial Exalt is easy: Just follow a Dawn around until he dies then recklessly charge whatever killed him. The tricky bit is running away from something clearly capable of killing a more experianced Dawn than you.

Or start the scenario by entering Creation in the Silver Prince's throne room, and pretend you're a mortal so awesome at sneaking into places that he should totally make you a Day. :p

Something tells me an essence shard can tell the difference between real heroism and fake heroism. It is fundamentally impossible for them to bind to the soul of someone who isn't worthy, after all.

You really only need one moment of sufficient glory at the right time to attract one, and charging someone you just saw kill a combat-oriented Solar seems like it would qualify... Besides, they still haven't been reprogrammed from the days when they were hunting people suitable to lead a war against absurdly powerful world-pantheon-concept entities, so it's not like "heroism" is a strictly accurate description of what they're looking for anyhow.

By carrying out the plan detailed above I'd be proving I'm willing to do something that's recklessly suicidal if I'm wrong, and absurdly dangerous even if it goes exactly to plan, to meet my goals.

It does make a difference, yeah.

I mean, if the first group were the guys from 'Spaced Invaders' or the 'Signs' aliens or the Stickmen of Stygia you'd effectively have several additional years of training to really amp up, punctuated by semi-annual periods of you gleefully wiping the floor with the space scrubs until the real challengers arrived.

    okay...the invasion order

    1- Aliens from Alien

    7-The Thing
    8-The Manhunters from DC
    9-The White Martians

It's kind of funny to see the Signs aliens are on a higher bracket than Aliens or Predator.

Also the Independence Day alien shad bio power suits, while they themselves have mental powers.

But yeah we need plot device/super kung fu against the last three.Other wise just a curbstomp to said aliens.

And the Alien/Predator are*really* tough to fight against.
