Despite an over-the-top cover, "Colder" #1 by Paul Tobin and Juan Ferreyra is not splatter horror, but the beginning of a strange and original psychological thriller with a heart-thumping cliffhanger at issue's end.

Very creepy book with some great interior art. My fiance reviewed it on our blog. She said it reminded her of Locke and Key, but I'm getting more of a Severed vibe from it.
X-O Manowar. Harbinger. Bloodshot. Archer & Armstrong. Swamp Thing. Dial H. Captain Marvel. Hit-Girl. Saga. Prophet. Read my reviews of these and more at The Comic Book Couple!
I'm down for horror when it's a mini-series like this. I like what the reviews have said so far. I think I'll give this a chance next time I stop by the LCS.
Reading: Creepy, Eerie, Prophet, COPRA
just read the first 2 issues. this is pretty good. will definitely see it through as it's only 5 issues.
Good points. Story-wise it seems more akin to Locke & Key to me, but the atmosphere is more like that of Severed, which I also loved.
So very true. Limited series can be gold mines for wonderfully crafted stories and this seems like it's gonna be one of them.
Most definitely.
If this series keeps up it'll be one of the best limited series I've read in a looong time. Paul Tobin actually responded with a decently lengthy reply to an e-mail I sent him and Juan Ferreyra commented on a review I did of issue one on comicvine so definitely drop them a line voicing your support, everyone.
Just read the 3rd one, it's really in your face with the interesting art and such... now we know that Jack is looking for insane people... and that ending was really neat with the hands and such! I'm liking this comic more and more, too bad it's going to end is what I was thinking...
