The full circumstances concerning how their powers can to be (in most cases) was never fully revealed.....just that Christos Gage just say that they weren't mutants.

Another excellent issue. Loved seeing everyone happy, though again I just wish we could've had more. Every issue of this book could've been double-sized IMO. Hawkeye never really panned out as a teacher, since he never got anything to do. I wanted more from Hank and Tigra and the rest. Would've loved to see more of the newer students too. But I guess that's a nice problem to have.

Also liked Maddie's ending. It felt very Buffy-esque to me, which is a compliment.

I did think Christos' letter was a little frustrating. He says he never wanted to keep these characters for himself, because they'll only become integrated into the MU if other writers use them. That's true, unless the other writer plans to just kill them off issue by issue. Then it just wastes the characters. I am going to try Arena -- not because of Christos' words, but because it's got so many characters I like -- but I really don't expect to enjoy it enough that I'm willing to continue buying in the wake of their plans to kill character after character. I'm also wondering how that'll work because in-continuity AAcademy appears to be continuing so the teachers should be instantly aware when their protoges go missing.

Thanks for a great 40 issues. I've said it before, but AA kept me buying comics when Marvel and DC weren't do much else that was worth going to the store for.

Sad as Xavin's fate left me, I like that Karolina gets to move on and not be stuck mourning after her forever and ever.
