    Aloha,

It's certainly a different style, and lots of people know very little about undergrounds. I don't know as much as I'd like to, but love Shelton, Crumb and others.

I'm enjoying all your posted images hondobrode. I especially gush over that Ditko art on Captain Atom, one of Steve's most underrated runs. And Infantino Elongated Man is just so damn classy. Sadly, its a cartooning style so marked of another era. It does indeed make much of contemporary over-wrought comic art all the more impoverished looking.

Thank you benday-dot. I appreciate it.

The Captain Atom stuff was very nice - ever been reprinted, I wonder?

I've never liked Infantino, though, except when inked by Murphy Anderson.

All of the Ditko Captain Atom stories were reprinted in two hardcover 'Action Heroes Archives' books published by DC in 2006 and 2007. Some of them were also reprinted in the UK at various times from the 60s-80s in black & white anthology books from Alan Class Publishing.

Vampirella just barely squeaks into the decade in '69.
Dare you delve into... THE ARCHETYPAL ARCHIVE?

    Why, it's... NATURALISTIC! UNCANNY! MARVELOUS!
