Jeff Lemire Targets "Green Arrow"

How has a DC aficionado like yourself gone all these years and not read the definitive Green Arrow story?!?!

But seriously, check it out. There's a recent reprint of the trade, or you can probably find the singles for less than cover price.

Yay I'm really stoked! Green Arrow's relaunch was definitely underwhelming to say the least, and when Ann Nocenti came on I didn't like the art. But now!? Lemire and Sorrentino!? I imagine this will quickly become a favorite of mine : D

1. One of my favourite writers.
2. One of my favourite artists.
3. One of my favourite genres (crime).

I am a huge Lemire fan and I love Green Arrow, I hope that Lemire doesn't listen to the negative reactions towards his work as his slow burn, character focused style is the best part of his work.

Animal Man has been my personal favourite book of the New52 and even that isn't my favourite of Lemire's work (it's a third after Sweet Tooth and Essex County)

Jeff Lemire, and Andrea Sorrentino taking over Green Arrow is great news to me. Sign me up for this. I can't wait for their run to start!

I've been wanting to like Green Arrow for a while now, but the relaunch really seemed to miss what made him compelling, so I'll be interested to see this.
The art also looks quite nice.

Sounds almost like a reboot/revamp, if he's taking cues from Grell... I'm fine with that! ;)

I haven't picked up GA in awhile and I hope to be able to again with Jeff Lemire's run. GA has been in the dumps for awhile. I'm hoping that DC stops throwing the baby out with the bathwater and realises that some people read the titles not just for the main character, but for supporting characters they know.

I think one of the reasons why Hawkeye by Fraction and Aja has been so fantastic is in part, the camaraderie between Clint and Kate. While not necessarily needing to go in the same direction as Hawkeye, Ollie has someone who could fill in that role of comedic relief: Mia Dearden! Honestly, I would not have picked up Hawkeye had Kate Bishop not been in the title. I think she's a fantastic character back from her YA days and am glad she's being written so well.

And hey, we know that Lemire's said he's going to bring in some ladies on the title as Ollie's love interests. But the female contingent shouldn't just be "love interest!"

So, bring in Mia Dearden and I promise to promote the hell out of this book to every single woman I know who reads comics (and there's a lot!) I promise to promote it everywhere and to all the customers at the comic book store. Seriously. Take me up on this, Mr. Lemire! You won't regret it!

I'm starting to wonder after the success of the Avengers movie if there will be a push by DC to have Green Arrow in the Justice League movie since Hawkeye was in that movie.

I hope Merlyn returns as Arthur King the Dark Archer and not Tommy Merlin,I've had enough of Tommy's going bad in DC.
