Alpha #1 in February. I hope it's on the week of my birthday. In fact if it ships on my birthday, all the better.

Geography lesson du jour: Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (despite being in the same state) are about 300 miles apart, a 5 to 6 hour drive. Venom in Philadelphia is actually closer to all of the other heroes in Manhattan, which is only about 100 miles northeast.

Sounds promising. I'll definitely give the first issue a shot.

The interviewer sounds very naive with his "Readers know Peter wasn't a bad guy"
It's not like people are born good guys or bad guys, they make right or wrong choices. Peter was making a lot of wrong choices and that led to the death of his uncle. In other words, the negative result of his actions happened soon enough that he was able to change tack. There was a What If? that showed Peter continuing his entertainment career for a while longer. There is also the Mark Waid mini in the House of M reality.

Ditko's Parker wasn't always a nice person and that's where Alpha can be interesting (that's also the pitch of Scarlet Spider: None of the responsibility)

Yes and Pennsylvania is also, IMHO, probably the most boring state to drive across in all of the good ol' USA. It is 5 hours east to west and has absolutely no variation in topography at all. I am not putting down the state, it's people or attractions but, whereas there is some variation in scenery when driving other locales, there is nothing at all that changes in driving those 5 hours through PA.

Having said that, I have never driven through North Dakota or Wyoming and I suspect those may be fairly dull as well.

The tagline 'none of the responsibility' isn't really true to Kaine's experience.

He's shown an incredible sense of obligation since he's moved to Houston.

(But he also sees sleeping with hot chicks who turn out to be crazy as a fringe benefit of heroism.)

At least everything isn't in NY.
