Team Buffy vs Team Dresden

Let me put it this way:

You think that at least two people on Dresden's team could beat a ridiculously powered up Buffy.

You put those people, in a team with other people who are generally above the TV Show characters, against regular Buffy and a team that might as well be just Willow for all the good they'll do.

What exactly were you expecting?

With the Comic Book series for Buffy, I wasn't sure if they could match up or not. I honestly thought, between Dark Willow, Super-Buffy, and who knows what else I'm not aware of that they might give Team Dresden a good fight.

Team Dresden also has some half-descent speed of their own.

Lara and Thomas are both in the blink and gone rate of speed (Thomas moving fast enough to rip a bolted down chair off the ground, swing it, and strike his cousin with it in the head faster than Dresden's eyes could follow or Thomas's counsin's), and Lara's as fast as he is.

Dresden, pre-Winter Knight, also has a feat of at least being able to somewhat react to Black Court vamps (he could see the blur of their movements, or something like that, whereas Molly and the normal human guard who got his neck broken couldn't even see the thing move). Post-Winter Knight, he was at least able to keep up, somewhat, and over take speeding white-court and red-court vamps IIRC.

Dresden has a bullet time feat in one of the early books, which is amusing (but I don't count it). The writer clearly writes Dresden as raising his shield after the gun is shot, but there's no way he meant it to be so.

I know which one you're talking about too. Whiel Dresden does have a few other, sporadic, quick shield raises, that's still probably the best one (and most out there), especially since he gets more powerful as the books go along.

I think if he preps the shield ahead of time he can raise it very quickly, not sure if I would count that as a speed feat though. It would be like counting blinking as a speed feat. He goes after guys with guns, he is going to be prepared to defend against gunshots.

SuperBuffy s8 wouldn't be slowed by the standard Aura Thomas or Lara give off. They'd be ripped apart before they had time to process a thought. No one else would have time or the power to effect SuperBuffy. To put things into perspective, Superbuffy would likely be able to beat the Nagoloshi...

Tv Team Buffy doesn't stand any chance due to Team Dresden having multiple people whose overall abilities are weird or decent enough to effect Dark Willow. To Dark Willow's credit though, only going off those specific episode, she'd at least be able to react to most of Dresden Team's attacks.

Even a FIRST book Dresden would Just Shoot Her if he thought she was a serious threat. and Unlike the Buffyverse, 'Those never work' isn't an acceptable answer in Kahzaan.

Of course if Dresden and crew CAN handle a full-power full-speed Supergirl that's nearly as bad.

So I guess it's official then. Mary Sue now means 'Powerful Female Character I Don't Like'.

It's BUFFY! The charecter that was made to be a parody of all the dumb blonde cheerleaders in horror movies that gget themselves killed by Vampires. Her suddenly getting Superman-esque powers would be more than just "powerful female charecter". Also people have been pointing out her Mary Sue Esque traits since Season 3.
