I think the part where Damian asks Bruce "Where"s Pennyworth" with Bruce replying with "I'm sure Alfred has better things to do. As do I." could be a lead up to Batman 14 since the solit asks Where is Alfred? But than again, maybe not. It depends on if Tec 14 takes place before Batman 14. I think it is and Bruce is just too busy to take notice of Alfred not being around.

Gothic was nothing special. Arkham Asylum was notable mostly for the McKean art.

Won't read the issue until Saturday, but based on the preview, I have a feeling Ogilvy is going to die at the hands of the Penguin (for being "too smart"). I feel the first issues back-up was foreshadowing that.

I got that impression as well.

Actually, you might be kinda right. The little description about #16 on the DC site says that Ogilvy will try to usurp the Penguin. So he doesn't die in 14, won't in 15, but it's reasonable that he will in 16 if his plan fails (probably).

I liked this issue. I picked up the last one as well because I'm a fan of Fabok's art, but I was also really impressed with the story thus far. I'm hoping it holds up. It's a little nice to get something different than the gritty, street crime drama that has been kind of popular with Batman in the last few years. This reminded me of an episode from the animated series for some reason with a little bit more of the fantastical element compared to trying to make it closer to reality. At least that is the sense I got from it.

My biggest problem with this issue has been the art. It is great and takes a lot of talent to make anything so emotionally intense. However, I feel the seriousness and solemn nature doesn't go with the amount of fun Layman is trying to write in. Also, is it just me or did Batman's "sexy stubble" grow during the fight with Ivy. It almost felt like all of the sudden Bruce is rough around the edges and overwhelmed with his job. Earlier in the day he's arguing with his son clean shaven and totally in control of everything. When did he turn into a mess? Do epileptic causing cartoons, or Ivy's pheromones make hair grow?
