Not really...Weird Worlds was on life support and they knew it was headed for cancellation so they threw Howard Chaykin a bone for the last three issues and that was the only shot Ironwolf had, which is not much of one at all. They did the one volume reprint of the WW stuff in the late 80's and then there was the graphic novel that came out in the early 90's. So three issues in a dying book and then a one shot decades later...I wouldn't say that was giving the character much of a chance.

Well while Conan and Elric's first comic appearances were in the 70's, neither character was created in the 70's. Conan debuted in Weird Tales in the 1930's (I want to say '36 of the top of my head), and Elric first appeared circa 1961.

A lunatic is easily recognized...You can tell him by the liberties he takes with common sense...and by the fact that sooner or later he brings up the Templars.

Yes, of course, but their comic appearances were in the 70's. Conan was a huge sensation.

Conan the Cimmerian as a comic-book character was actually first seen in a Mexican comic titled La reina de la Costa Negra, published in the 50s... But yeah, the "real" Conan that comics fans know is indeed the Marvel one, a great 70s character.
