B listers always seem to have the stories that can go a bit farther. My favorite super hero team is the Defenders (though it had it share of A listers). I can think of a bunch of B listers who I would love to reappear or have their own series (even if it's a mini): Monica Rambeau, Wraith (from Annihilation), Blue Marvel, Nekra, Beta Ray Bill, Doctor Voo Doo, Genis Vell (though I would say he was a B plus list character during the height of his series), Hellcat, Miss A. Chavez (love her!), Umar, Chamber...just to name a few.

I use to like A-listers like Spider-man, FF and X-men (specifically Wolverine), but it's gotten to the point that I'm sick of how nearly every current title is based on the same small handful of characters while the rest of the Marvel U languishes in limbo. The over saturation of these few heroes has (in part) killed my love for Marvel comics.
Seriously. I love Spider-Man and I love Avengers books but for God sakes, I want to see something new. I love the lesser known characters. Devil Dinosaur is legit. RAWR.

I guess the reason I like Hawkeye and I'm going to pick up YA is the promise that these characters will develop, they will be able to be moved forwards. I can't see that happening with Iron Man and for Spider-man, there has been huge hype around any change. In Hawkeye change will come naturally I think.

I hate A listers and B listers. After years spent reading Marvel comics, I'm fed up with them. There is hardly anything new or interesting that comes from them anymore. Oh, look, Iceman learnt how to use his powers... again. Oh, Matt Murdock's girlfriend/wife got killed/tortured, must be wednesday. Oh noes, Colossus has gone all angsty and dark, for the nth time!

Of course, some good writers can still write entertaining stories featuring those characters, but I can't bring myself to care about what happen to them.
Big change in Spider Mans life in a few weeks? Meh, I'm more concerned about the new Hobgoblin's fate.

A character need to be a C lister or below to not make me yawn.

    Marvel: Avengers Arena, lol!
    Classy as always, Marvel.

Marvel could do this, but you know they'd just have him join the Avengers.

This is exactly what annoys me about comics in general. The same characters dealing with the same issues after they dealt with them just a few years earlier. Why can't a different group of heroes be the main focus of an event? Why can't writers explore the depths of characters other than the A-listers? Doesn't it make sense, especially now when comic companies want/need to draw in new readers, that they diversify their product?

    I like many different characters:

    favorites are

    Moon Knight
    Werewolf by Night
    Doctor Strange
    Namor
    Maverick
    Hellstrom

Of the A-listers, I like Cap and Bucky and some of their villains quite a bit.

If a character I've never read looks interesting and I have the funds, I'll give them a try.

With Marvel NOW!, I am trying JiM & Morbius with Cap. Have to say FF looks more interesting with each preview I see. So if JiM and/or Morbius do not stick, I might try that. If Cap doesn't stick, I'll try Iron Man.

I really like Hawkeye and DD but find myself not being able to commit to either because crime stuff by and large isn't my thing. I get bored pretty quickly with genres I struggle with.

To be happy, I find that you need to find a balance between a-list and minor characters.
Hawkeye, X-Men Legacy, FF, Animal Man, Wonder Woman, Manhattan Projects, Fatale, East of West, Bedlam, Saga, Bandette, Nowhere Men

I prefer the B-listers too. They just seem much more rich in story and writers seem to take a lot more risks with them. Also, I'm pretty tired of seeing all the A-listers everywhere anyhow. I'm long over Wolverine, Spider-man and Iron Man's appeal.

    Let me think............

    My favorite characters are

    Captain America
    Fantastic Four
    Spider-Man
    Ironman
    Thor
    Hulk
    Wolverine
    and Daredevil

    Hmmmmmm....................

    I think I prefer A-list characters.

Oh, I like many B and C list characters also.
But my main love for reading Marvel for almost 40 years is because of
those A- list costume do gooders

At least they sorta isolate them.

I prefer the B-list and C-list of characters for the same reason just about everyone else does--there's more flexibility with them. And really, with every other book titled the Amazing Wolverine Meets Uncanny Spider-Man and the Savage, Astonishing X-Men, it's cool to see a focus on lesser-known heroes (who could move up to A-listers if they didn't keep focusing on the same 3-4 A-listers in every fracking comic).

The problem with characters that gain the A-List status is that they appear every where and because of their status they do nothing.

They stop developing as characters and in the hands of most writers even good ones, come off as static outside of their own books and sometimes even in them. Deadpool, Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, etc, the only one that barely escapes this fate is Spider-Man and that is because he is used mainly as a quip machine which is in character for him. (Good) Writers on characters that aren't A list status usually try their hardest with the stories to make the characters more interesting and likeable to push themselves to higher levels of acclaim.

While I like some of the a-listers, I'd deifnitely categorise myself as a B-list and lower fan. My favourite characters include Hellcat, Nighthawk, Captain Britain, original Deathlok, Death's Head I, the Silver Surfer, Songbird, Firestar and the entire Agents of Atlas team. Evne my favourite avengers - Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye and Vision - aren't exactly a-listers (although HAwkeye's continued presence in the film franchise might change that).

I love teams like AoA, Thunderbolts (when its not written by Warren Ellis) and the Defenders because they spotlight lesser known characters.
